Technical support — sheet metal CAD/CAM
Support and maintenance of CAD/CAM systems and the surrounding infrastructure. Nesting algorithm tuning, post-processor configuration, machine-specific workflows.
CAD/CAM consultant.
Ten years in industrial IT, eight of them inside CAD/CAM software for sheet metal. Today I work independently and I am building DCAM.

Ten years in industrial IT.
Eight of them next to the people cutting the metal.
I started in enterprise IT consulting (Aubay, Turin): systems administration and batch procedures on banking and insurance systems that have to run every single night. It is a good start — it teaches you rigour and respect for systems that cannot afford to get it wrong.
Then I moved into digital manufacturing: eight years of technical support on sheet metal CAD/CAM software — seven at Lantek, the last one at Libellula — alongside operators, programmers and production managers. That is where I learned the other half of the trade: seeing how a software decision turns into a real problem at the machine, and how it actually gets fixed.
Today I work independently, for companies and individuals, on bespoke software, on-premise infrastructure and local AI. And I build DCAM, which is the test bench where everything I learn ends up.

Seven years on enterprise nesting and CAM solutions at industrial clients, across multiple plants. Nesting algorithms, post-processors, CAM-ERP integrations, vendor relationships.
Systems administration, network configuration, Linux and Windows servers. Batch procedures on mission-critical banking and insurance systems. Java fundamentals and web development.

"I build software and infrastructure for people who build real things."
One product on Windows, macOS, Linux, web and tablet. You open an address and you work: no installation, no licence tied to one machine.
DCAM comes out of eight years spent seeing what a workshop actually needs and what is only in the brochure. It drafts, nests the parts on the sheet, applies the cutting technology and writes the program the machine runs — from drawing to CNC without switching software.
Full 2D drafting: dimensioning, layers, blocks, geometric constraints, DXF and DWG import and export.
HowTypeScript and Rust/WebAssembly. Entities are SVG — so printing and PDF come out as vectors — and the live cursor work sits on canvas.
Arranges parts wasting as little material as possible. It is where a CAM earns or loses the client's money: one point of scrap, over a thousand sheets, is a whole sheet.
HowSeveral engines competing on the same job, including the one holding the published records in the literature, compiled to multi-threaded WebAssembly inside the browser.
Lead-ins, micro-joints, cutting sequence, tool compensation, cut quality, part unloading: what turns a nesting layout into a program a machine will run.
HowDifferent dialects for different manufacturers — Siemens 840D, Fanuc macros, Euromac — worked out from the manuals and the real configuration files, not by guessing.
This is not a keyword list: it is what I have actually worked on, on the shop floor or in the machine room.

Your own servers instead of rented cloud.
I help companies keep their own systems in-house: on-premise infrastructure, AI models running on their hardware, data that never leaves the company. Application, database, mail, continuous integration and this very page run on my own hardware — you are using it right now.
I like to know who gets in touch. Drop me a couple of lines about what you do and what you need: I answer quickly. I work remotely, on-site when it makes sense — for consulting, fixed projects, one-off work or a permanent role.
